As our public schools work towards relevancy in our children’s education, “global competency” and “cross cultural awareness” have risen as 21st century skill requirements. CETUSA is a strong advocate for developing this awareness through international exchange. CETUSA is a not-for-profit international student exchange organization coordinating exchange experiences for high school students, university students and young professionals with a mission “to encourage a lifelong journey of global peace and understanding” for the students, host families and communities that are part of the exchange experience. Take note of the inclusion of those who are “a part of the exchange experience.” We strongly encourage our host schools, host communities and host companies to engage with the international students and participants that are visiting in the US. Ask them to be part of a Q&A session, write a guest blog in your school/company newsletter, or have them talk about their home country and differences to the US. Take advantage of the chance to speak with someone whose “prism of perspective” is different from your own. Council for Educational Travel, USA
CETUSA is dedicated to the mission of "reaching out to encourage a lifelong journey of global peace and understanding." We support this mission through the implementation of exchange programs for high school students - both American and international - and trainee and internship programs for university students/young professionals. This blog space is meant to continue the conversation on the value of education through experience - more specifically the experience of study abroad. There will be guest blogs here as well as announcements of resources for students, parents and teachers to learn more about study abroad and the global perspective.
